Details
This fully remote internship allows participants to work flexibly while contributing to meaningful projects. Interns will be responsible for their tasks and expected to manage their own progress while following industry-standard workflows. By the end of the program, successful participants will have a crediable work they can refernce on their portfolio for future career opportunities.
The internship lasts three months, with flexible working hours to accommodate different schedules. Interns will work independently on specific projects, focusing on delivering functional and polished work that demonstrates their technical capabilities. The experience closely mirrors working in a professional game development studio, with project management systems in place to track progress and ensure high-quality output.
While this is an independent role, collaboration with other interns and project coordination will be required. Deadlines and milestones will be set to maintain progress, and the ability to work efficiently without direct oversight is essential. This program is best suited for self-motivated individuals who want to showcase their abilities in a professional environment.
Technology
I aim to utilize the Bevy Engine. It is a newer game engine built in the Rust programming language. Admittedly it is still quite a moving target in terms of development, but I feel strongly that is it the right decision to make for developing a game that will take many years to polish and complete. It also gives you an oppotunity to contribute to it or surrounding technologies in a meaningful way quite easily. Rust, with its focus on performance, memory safety, and concurrency, provides a strong foundation for high-quality game logic.
I feel strongly with the amount of investment money being put into both Rust and Bevy that these will both be much more popular in future years and this is an opportunity to work on both to gain experience that companies may be looking for in the future.
Requirements
The program is open to all applicants, with no formal requirements beyond a demonstrated interest in game development and rust programing. Applicants must submit their a portfolio of work, either as a GitHub repository or a YouTube demo reel URLs. Please showcase past projects involving Rust or Bevy. A strong interest in Rust and Bevy is necessary otherwise you will struggle. To apply, please fill out the form below and include links to relevant work you wish to show.
